PLNs through Twitter

PLNs Through Twitter

Before starting the Foundations of Educational Technology course, I was unaware of all that Twitter has to offer.  Throughout the course, I learned that I can make all kinds of connections through Twitter, which can help me grow as a professional. I started following my fellow cohort members, educators across the country, and other educational accounts.  By doing so, I've expanded my professional learning network and have added so many new tools to my teacher toolbox! I love seeing what my fellow D181 colleagues are doing in their classrooms and getting new ideas from them.  Who knew Twitter would become my go-to for professional development?!

Creating Posters Using Canva

While working on my technology endorsement, I was introduced to a design too called Canva.  Canva can be used to make posters for the classroom. What I like best about Canva is that is so easy to use and there are tons of backgrounds and images to choose from! Below you'll see a poster I created for my classroom!

Intro

Zdravo! Welcome to my blog! My name is Bukurije Akiti, but I go by Buka to make everyone's lives easier :)  I know you're probably thinking...What's with the name? Well, my parents are originally from a small country named Macedonia (if you know where that is, I'm impressed).  I was born in Elk Grove, IL and grew up in a small town named Sterling, IL (once again, I'm impressed if you know where that is).

This is my 11th year teaching. I currently teach 5th grade at Prospect Elementary.  Prior to that, I taught 3rd grade  in my hometown. Although teaching has its challenges, I can't imagine doing anything else! From the beginning of my career, I've always been drawn to incorporating technology within my classroom, so I look forward to learning new things as I pursue my technology endorsement!
